Courtney Rose Hannen is an artist shaped by balance, social justice, and reverence for embodied & reflective identity. Born in Rome, New York, her early years spanned states and continents, including a formative chapter in Brazil. This global upbringing forged her expansive perspective. Since 2011, she has lived in the Blue Ridge Mountains, earning her BFA in Illustration from UNC Asheville in 2013, where she also met her husband, Matthew. Their fun loving home brims with creativity, cats, and a Kenyan sand boa. After the pandemic, she found purpose with Open Hearts, and in 2024, began leading the Paper Flower Project—where art meets empathy in full bloom.
